Do oils expire?
There are expiration dates (lasting 5 years) on the bottom of your bottles as required by the FDA because they are consumable products.
Oils lose efficacy over time but to make that last longer,
1. Keep them out of heat
2. Keep them out of direct sunlight
3. Keep the lids on- oxygen makes them evaporate
You will read all kinds of conflicting information online. Follow the tips above, use your oils regularly and use common sense and you'll be fine.
Are essential oils safe to take internally?
Yes! When you're using dōTERRA CPTG oils. And when you check the bottle for supplement facts. (Not all dōTERRA oils are for internal use so check the bottle).

Can you use essential oils around pets?
Yes and no. Doterra oils are safe if used correctly, properly diluted, and diffused with a water diffuser in a room that the pet can leave if needed.

Do any doterra products or oils contain gluten/wheat?
All of doTERRA's essential oils, skin and hair care products, and supplements are free of gluten. By adhering to the strictest standards, doTERRA products can safely be classified as gluten free. These products pose no health risk to those with gluten sensitivity, gluten intolerance, or Celiac disease.
Some labels (Shampoo, Lifelong Vitality Pack) now say "contains wheat ingredients". Be assured that this is a labeling requirement but the final product is indeed gluten-free and safe.
The FDA is now requiring allergen declaration of any of the 7 main allergens used in a fermentation process for nutrients found in supplements. That’s not just doTERRA but all supplements sold in the US. We have documentation and testing that shows that TerraZyme and Microplex VMz do not have gluten in them, but because wheat were used in the fermentation process it is now required to be declared in the allergen section of the label.
I've read Eucalyptus and Peppermint are dangerous for kids. Is this true?
The purity of oils from doTERRA and the species used in blends like Breathe and On Guard are SAFE for all ages when used in appropriate amounts, appropriately diluted, and diffused in safely with proper ventilation and amount of drops.

Does Lavender oil cause boys to grow breasts?
NO. Synthetic lavender has side effects but dōTERRA's lavender does not contain synthetics and is safe for use on young children.

Your Wholesale Membership is similar to a Costco or Sam's Club account. Membership lasts one year from the date of your original enrollment. After the first year is up, renewal is only $25 and doterra will send you a free bottle of Peppermint (15mL).
You receive 25% off all products and oils (wholesale cost v. retail cost).
You will also receive access to tons of education, support, information, and more.
You have the option of ordering monthly and earning product credits to spend like cash - but this is not a requirement of membership.
You do NOT have to order monthly.
You do NOT have to sell anything, ever.
There is NOT a minimum order requirement.
Do I have to Be a Member to Order?
No. You can shop retail at anytime. But you will not get all the perks of membership (discounts, education, support, reduced bundled pricing, etc).
