Happy Dance Commences...

Y'all. Who would've thought. That after getting a building permit on October 26, 2018 then getting the foundation laid December 6, 2018, that it would be 4 MORE MONTHS until walls started going up?
4 MORE MONTHS.
Here's the scoop... The timber company that was cutting all those boards and timbers that will, you know, hold our house up and make the walls not fall down on us, had delay after delay. They couldn't even ship the first load until March 12. Why? Because of crazy snowy, icy weather in the midwest during December, January, and February.
But it came. And it was sooo pretty all that wood!

So, all we had to do was get the framers to start putting the wood together with a basically huge Ikea manual (that's a joke, we didn't have an Ikea manual).
But apparently you need a huge crane to lift the timbers and put them in place.
So we rented one.
And then the ground was too soft and the crane would sink.
So we dug, brought in gravel to sturdy it, and tried again.
It still sunk.
So there's a specialty (translated: expensive and rare) piece of equipment that can do the job but not sink. We reserved it.
And then we get a call that the company gave it to another project. You wanna know what that other project was?? It was the freaking NFL DRAFT IN NASHVILLE.

So our builder calls around to 7 other states, finds one, reserves it, and we are actually putting up the frame.
PRAISE THE LORD!
So, who's gonna happy dance with me?

What have I learned through all this? That God has a plan. And it hardly ever matches with what I've pictured in my head. BUT, I trust Him, I trust His process, and I've got to chill out more. :)
These 4 months of waiting have been frustrating. But it has also been a nice respite for our family. A needed time of figuring out what to focus on and how to make it happen.
God is good. All the time. Even when I don't understand His process.
